History

The Department of Special Education, housed within the Faculty of Education at Hacettepe University, is a well-established academic unit dedicated to producing both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of special education at national and international levels. The department admitted its first undergraduate students in the 2016–2017 academic year. Building upon this strong foundation, the Master’s Program in Autism Spectrum Disorder Education was launched in 2019 in response to the growing need for specialization within the field of special education.
